Newport Farmers Market

The Newport Farmer's Market has been an important anchor in our vibrant coastal community since 1978!

Newport Farmers MarketCome visit us on Saturdays throughout the year-long growing season and you will see we have something for everyone. Rain or Shine! Our farmers offer diverse, high-quality, seasonal & locally grown produce, meat, eggs, and honey. Meet our local farmers, eat some delicious prepared food, buy one-of-a-kind handcrafted items, chat with Master Gardeners, listen to local musicians, drink some lemonade to support a good cause, and catch up with friends and neighbors while stocking up on fresh produce. Experience our local coastal flavor and see what makes us one of the great events Newport has to offer. Supporting your local farmers and artisans strengthens the community!"

The Newport Farmers Market is pleased to announce that our outdoor season will open on June 6, 2020 at our summer location across from city hall on the corner of Highway 101 and Angle Street. We will be open Saturdays from 9-1.

In order to protect our vendors and our customers, things will look a bit different this year, and we need everyone's cooperation to ensure we can continue to remain open for the full season.

To provide enough space for social distancing, we've had to cut the number of booths in half, so other than farms, all vendors will be rotating attendance. We encourage you to check with individual vendors to confirm what weeks they will be attending. We will have a list on our Facebook page of all summer vendors and will post any revisions or updates at www.facebook.com/newportfarmersmarket.

Consider making a list and planning your route so you can get in, get what you're looking for, and get out quickly and safely. There will not be seating or visiting areas available this summer.

We are resilient. With your help, we can make this work. There are a lot of small businesses that are breathing a sigh of relief at being able to reopen, while trying to push the fears and worries to the back of their mind. Please help us meet the unusual challenges this year so that we may remain open.

Market top 10

  1. Stay home if you are feeling unwell in any way OR if you have been around anyone who exhibits symptoms of illness.
  2. Wear a mask. No Mask = No Market.
  3. Use the restroom before leaving home.
  4. Send one person per household. Leave children home if possible & shop for others who can't go out.
  5. Make use of market hand washing and sanitizing stations to wash your hands often.
  6. One household at a time in each booth. Stay at least 6 ft. away from anyone not in your household.
  7. Consider using debit/credit cards to minimize the need to handle bills. If using cash, bring small bills.
  8. No on-site consumption of food or drink. Take out only.
  9. Leave pets at home.
  10. Shop with your eyes and buy what you touch! Get in, get what you're looking for, and get out quickly and safely.
Newport Farmers Market pet policyAccording to the ADA:

Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform.
