The Lemonade Project

Lemonade-Project-1The Newport Farmers Market is committed to providing access to fresh, locally grown foods for everyone!

Sustainable Lemonade…

“The Lemonade Project” (TLP) is an all-volunteer run booth that sells fresh squeezed lemonade at the Newport Farmers Market. The project is a nonprofit enterprise sponsored by the Newport Farmers Market and Food Share of Lincoln County.

The proceeds from the lemonade sales fund our S.N.A.P. Match program benefiting shoppers at the Market who qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly called Food Stamps).  The Project provides S.N.A.P. shoppers with matching funds, up to $6 every week.

Lemonade-Project-2When shoppers use their Oregon Trail (S.N.A.P.) card at our Market we incentivize this buying-power, “Spend $6 – Get $6”. Customers can use EBT and buy local to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs and bread. The “Match Program” helps our customers stretch their food dollars while adding healthy fruits and vegetables to their diet.
